Here you have found a simple tracker log for recording grams of sugar intake for the day.
I haven't purchased these record log notepads as of yet, but I do plan to. I designed them based on how I was keeping track of my own sugar intake for the day.
In the first column is the food with the added sugar in it. In the second column is the number of grams of sugar eaten for that food item. The third column is where I keep a running total of sugar grams eaten for the day.
In addition to the log part, there is an information and tips section at the top of each page, recommended daily intakes of grams of sugar for men and women (For men it is 36 grams and for women it is 24 grams.), and a line to write your own individual goal for grams of sugar intake for that day.
At the bottom of the form, you get to check off whether or not you achieved your goal for the day, along with some encouragement.
The notepads measure 5.5" x 6" and has tear away sheets. There are 40 pages per notepad, giving over a month of record keeping per notepad.
I have been keeping my own record of my grams of sugar intake for a week now. Not long, I know. However, I got started, and I've been noticing some improvements in my energy level, especially for day time hours. My first three days, I did not reach my goal, but on the next two days, I came very close. On the sixth day, I even came in under my goal, which is very good indeed.
I shall be keeping up my record keeping of my sugar grams, until I have a good handle on what foods and amounts are best for me to eat during the day.
I do find it helpful to have my log so that I know where I am on my running daily total, and I can easily see what foods that I ate and how many grams of sugar are in them.
I don't know if I will ever be sugar free of added sugar, but I may actually do that on some days. We'll see.

Lip Moisturizer Treatment Review
The best thing that I have found for keeping my lips moisturized, is the Original Vaseline Jelly. The label says that it is pure 100% petroleum jelly.
I have used a variety of other lip moisturizing treatments and balms, which were name brand, but I have had the best long term results with the original Vaseline.
I usually apply it after brushing my teeth. So for the most part, that is once in the morning, and again at night.
The nice thing about Vaseline, is that it's not just for lips. It can be applied to rough elbows, heels, etc., and also to squeaky door hinges!
As for applying the Vaseline to my lips or anything else, I use a clean Q-tip for each application. Just one dip per end of the cotton swab; that way the Vaseline stays clean for future applications.

Rebounder Review
I have had a couple of mini trampolines, over the years. On the first one, the mesh wore out. When I replaced the first one, I was both surprised and impressed with my second one.
This newer model had more bounce to it. The stretchy fabric has more give to it than what my old mini trampoline had. It was a basic model for around $50.
And then, I got busy with doing other things, and it sat in the basement, awaiting for my return. Well you know what, after I switched to a plant based diet, I got more energy, and also had some extra time, so I got my trampoline out and bought it up to my living room to make it more convenient to use. It was a welcome and fun activity. So much so, that I decided to upgrade to one with more bounce and give to it. I was looking for one with bungee type cords over the metal springs. I liked that there wouldn't be squeaks to it.
I did some research and decided on the JumpSport 350 rebounder. It was within the weight limits for my husband and I, and had a great amount of repetitions that it could handle for its lifetime.
It had added bounce that I wanted, which feels like more fun to me. It is also quieter than the ones with the metal springs that I had before. The legs feel very solid and sturdy.
I had watched videos where people not only jumped on it, but kicked as well. So far my favorite exercises to do on it is to stand and bounce on it, and to just jog in place. Sometimes I also add arm exercises that coordinate with the jumps, and steps.
I like that this a fun way to get extra steps in and I don't have to drive somewhere. I also don't have to think about what the weather is doing.
This mini trampoline/rebounder has two thumbs up from me.
I found this one online on Amazon. (That is where the above link goes.) The rebounder was delivered rather quickly, and was so much easier to put together than the old models I had. I did not have to stretch metal coils to attach the fabric to the frame. All I needed to do was to attach the legs.
The other main difference is that this one sets a couple of inches higher, and also has a wider area to jump on. That also feels good.

When our forefathers wrote the constitution, I imagine that they made a provision to try and make the voting process more equal. They wanted the people in smaller states and more rural locations to have more representation of their voting voice being heard. The Electoral College was born.
Today, people are connected via the internet. In most places, they can be in touch with what is going on in another state, across the country, etc.
Since the time that our forefathers wrote the constitution, the Electoral College has been used as a form of gerrymandering; boundaries have been adjusted to try and influence the outcomes of elections. That is not how a democratic government should operate. The government of any country or state should not be trying to influence elections.
Our government is supposed to be for the people and by the people; therefore, let the people decide who shall be president of the United States. Let us vote our president in office by using the popular vote, where all votes count.
If you are in agreement with me, then I invite you to contact your state representatives to voice your opinion.
Also, sometimes mail in ballots have been refused, and not counted. I have listed some common tips to help those ballots be counted. Such as signing the ballot. Below is an example where the tips are printed on posters. These can be passed out to the voting public.

No Attachments No Aversions Lesters Story
While on my spiritual path, I came across the book, No Attachments No Aversions, by Lester Levenson. Lester was a man who lived life, tried to get ahead, and ended up with all kinds of health problems, personal problems, and was given two weeks to live, three at most, by his doctors. He was sent home to die. He was told not to do the stairs.
He was frightened and scared, afraid to make a move. But gradually he thought, I'm still here. Then he decided to question himself. He went inside himself and began questioning how he got to where he was.
He also started asking himself when he was most happy. At first he thought of outside things that made him happy, but realized most of those were fleeting. He then realized that he was most happy when he was loving toward others.
Armed with his new knowledge, Lester started making changes to his feelings to feel more positive and loving toward others. This changed his life dramatically, for the better. Lester also decided to not eat animals anymore. Lester's health greatly improved after only about three months. He lived for another forty-two years, without seeing anymore doctors.
Levenson was truly an inspiration. You can read more about Lester Levenson, in his own words in his autobiography, in No Attachments, No Aversions.

Bib Apron from Zazzle Review
I purchased an apron from Zazzle, for myself. I chose a white in the medium length for adults. It gives me plenty of coverage.
When I shop for aprons, I look for the ones that have a bib on them, so that my shirt, etc., stays cleaner and drier.
The apron is a 35/65 cotton-poly twill blend. I like that it washes up nice without any ironing.
The printed design has held up well over the washings. I have had this apron for quite a few years now and have washed it quite a few times. It has had spaghetti splatters on it, that with a spritz of Shout before laundering, easily came out.
I would recommend this apron to anyone.
The adult size comes in two lengths, the medium length, and a longer length. I am wearing the medium length in the photo. There is one basic size for kids. The color choices are white, yellow, and khaki for both the kids and adult sizes.

Favorite Funny Comedy Movies on DVD
My preference for movies are ones that make me laugh. Laughter makes me feel good, and it's fun. So the ones that I'll be sharing with you here my favorite funny comedies.
The first one on my list is Saint Ralph. Ralph is an adolescent boy attending a catholic school. His mother is in a nearby hospital, in a coma. Ralph has great faith and comes to believe that he needs to do something great in order for his mother to come out of the coma. The something great that he decides upon is running in the Boston Marathon. The head priest is not at all for it, but Ralph is determined. There are a few sad parts in this movies, and also quite a bit of fun. It is well worth watching. It also ends with one of the best versions of the song Hallelujah, that I have ever heard.
This second movie, The Producers, is a story about two men who become involved in making a play that they hope will flop; they figure they'll make more money from the insurance write off. So first off, they come up one that they figure people wouldn't like at all, a musical about Hitler. Nathan Lane and Mathew Broderick star in this version, and are a very comedic pair in this movie. You'll also be amazed at the play that they come up with.
If you would like one that is rated G, then I recommend Mr. Bean's Holiday. Mr. Bean wins a camcorder and a paid vacation to the French Riviera. If you've seen any of the Mr. Bean movies before, you know that he gets into a variety of mishaps. He does that frequently in this movie, but also has amazing fun opportunities, and more mishaps. You'll laugh along throughout this movie.

Hangman Post It Notes Review
My Hangman Post It Notes arrived shortly after Christmas and we have already used them several times. First at home to try them out, and then a couple of times at restaurants, while we were waiting for our food.
They are a nice size for writing short word combinations or one long word. That however is fine with us, giving the convenience that they offer. They are small enough for me to carry in my purse and are a ready source of activity.
Another big plus with this little game, is that my daughter has not resorted to her cell phone as a boredom buster, but now prefers to play a game or two of hang man instead.
This is an example of how much room you have to write.
We cross the letters off as they are called, whether they are used in the word(s) or not; then we can easily see which letters are remaining.
These little Hangman Post It Notes has two thumbs up from us.
This hangman game is also made on dry erase boards.

Walk to the Hits by Leslie Sanone DVD Review
I had purchased a new Leslie Sansone Walk DVD. This DVD refers to the Hits as in Party Songs, and also HIIT as in High Intensity Interval Training.
One major difference with this walking DVD by Sansone, is that it gives you the choice of just walking to the music, or listening to Leslie too.
I kind of like listening to Leslie's banter and instructions, so I do listen to her talking as well.
In this DVD, I also felt like I was dancing as well.
The other major difference is the HIIT, because you build up to the higher intensity moves, but only stay there for a short while before bringing your heart rate back down. Then you exercise (walk) to the lower intensity a while before going back up to the higher heart rate routines. This is done throughout all three miles, instead of having certain miles that are higher intensity than other miles.
I like this pattern myself, and find it easier to walk the three miles than in the other Sansone DVDs I've used.
The one that I bought is the Party Songs version.

Stretchy Hair Ties Review
Stretchy hair ties are pre tied in to a loop, that you stretch around your hair and put on like you were using a rubber band. They are, however, better for your hair than rubber bands. I have found them to be gentle on my hair, and they hold up their stretch quite well. I’ve been using mine for quite a few months, and they’re all working well. I have also hand washed some of them with foaming hand soap; which they have also held up well to.
I love seeing some of my artistic designs on my hair ties. It's a fun to enjoy my art. Zazzle is the print on demand company that I work in association with. Neskla Pedometer Review and Link to Purchase
I had purchased the Neskla Pedometer, and am impressed with what I have seen.
I used to have a non-battery powered pedometer, and it left quite a bit to be desired. The latest pedometers are battery powered and are more accurate, in my opinion.
Pros:
This Neskla Pedometer is on Amazon; it gives a cumulative reading for the steps taken, until you press and hold the reset button to zero it out. When it is reset, it will start again at zero and begin counting once it notices movement.
The unit remains on in sleep mode in between uses. It will start counting once it notices movement, and will display the steps taken once you have taken around 10-13 steps. The initial 10-13 steps are added in with the cumulative count. I reset my pedometer at the start of each new day, or when I take it off at the end of the day.
It comes with a removable clip, and also a lanyard if you want to wear it around your neck. It can also be carried in a purse, and still detect movement.
This unit comes with a long life battery that is good for up to a year.
Cons:
The one con about this unit, is it doesn't count swaying movements, i.e. side to side. So when I am dancing, it will count marching type steps, but not the hip sways that go from side to side. I would like it to count those movements too, as I am moving, so it should count. Anyway, other than that, I like it pretty well. Sometimes I just add some extra steps in for my daily count for the sways!
After I started walking on a more regular basis, I decided to keep a log. Here is a chart I came up with. This monthly walking chart is found in my CherylsArt store on Zazzle.
There are daily columns for number of steps taken, distance, calories burned, and also one for location. I thought it would also be nice to see if there was a difference in calories burned with a change of terrain, if you are keeping track of that. The column headings can also be customized; you can keep track number of water bottles drank in a day, protein intake for the day, etc.
I'd be interested to know your feedback on the chart design.

Goo Gone - a product review
The bumper sticker on my car was old and very faded. I applied one coating of the Goo Gone and waited a few minutes, per the instructions. After the initial wait, I was able to peel the vinyl like top coating.
A very sticky under layer remained. I applied a second coat of Goo Gone and let it sit for a couple of minutes. It loosened it up quite a bit and I got a good amount of it off.
I applied a third coating of Goo Gone and waited another minute or so, and easily wiped the remaining sticky stuff away. Voila, all the sticky spots and signs of the old bumper sticker were gone.
I had a second smaller bumper sticker that I decided to remove. It hadn't been on the car quite as long, only around a year or two. That one only took two coatings of the Goo Gone for it to be wiped away. I again had to peel the vinyl type layer off first, and then did the second layer. That was all that one needed.
If you have a sticky residue on a hard surface to remove, I would recommend Goo Gone. The previous text link goes to Amazon.
The company recommends not to use it on soft surfaces, faux steel, unpainted dry wall, unfinished wood, and unsealed stone. The label goes into more detail.

I am enjoying our screen away storm door
When it was spring, it had finally warmed up enough that my family was saying it was too warm inside the house. It was too soon to turn on the air conditioner; the temps outside were cooling off in the evening.
When it was the start of autumn, the opposite occurred. The house was too cool in the evening, but comfort returned as long as it was sunny during the day.
All of that changed when we had a screen away storm door installed. Within in few moments, we could make an environmentally friendly adjustment. We could open or close the screen part of the screen away storm door. Ah, welcome warmth of warm air, or welcome cool of cool air, whatever the case may be. It improved the comfort of our home naturally.
The old storm door required unscrewing the screen or window, and installing the opposite at the change of the seasons. Although it helped overall, it wasn't conducive to taking advantage of the change of the daily temperature change during the day or evening.
With our new storm door, that became a thing of the past. No mass changing out the window or screens, just flip the support switch and lower the screen portion, or raise the screen portion to the top position, and flip the support switch in the other direction. Ah, such ease.
We had our first screen away storm door installed in the kitchen. We loved it so much, that we had a second one installed in our living room the following year.
What a welcome relief. I got to open the kitchen and the living room screens on the storm door. Ah yes, the cross breeze blew through and it was pleasantly cooling the rooms off.
The screen away storm door is one of the best purchases that I've made. Larson is the company that made ours.
Update 1: They came in different styles. You can get one with a privacy portion on the bottom. You can view that one on Amazon: Larson Screen Away Storm Door with Privacy Bottom.
We had gotten the full view option. Our cats prefer the full view option.
However, the full view screen away door apparently is no longer an option. They do however show a full window option that you can change out with a full screen. They also offer a pet door option on their website.
Update 2: We purchased a second Larson Screen Away Storm Door for the front of our house. The adjustment mechanisim to lower and raise the screen had changed. The lever on the first door we purchased, Lever 1, worked great; it was easy to operate. The lever on the second door was hard to get back into the lock position to hold the window in the closed (all the way up) position. If you purchase an adjustable screen door from Larson, I recommend asking about the mechanism that raises and lowers the screen and holds the window in place. My preference is the style shown as Lever 1.

Hangman Dry Erase Board from Zazzle Review
My daughter and I like playing hangman, and started playing it on a small dry erase board. We liked the convenience and sturdiness of it, so I decided to make one on Zazzle.com.
I made a hangman design and added the alphabet, and repeated it to be able to play three games before having to erase.
The game is played a little different on the alphabet version, as each letter is crossed off from the alphabet, whether it is used or not, so the players can see the remaining letters left. That part may require a little getting used to, but overall works pretty well.
The hangman figure and the alphabet remain after erasing, which is pretty cool, for playing the game.
The dry erase board itself, from Zazzle, is made of an acrylic which has some thickness to it, and is see through. The print and the hangman design are printed on the card stock that it is attached to. This means, that if you're looking at the design straight on, everything looks good and lined up.
However, if you look at the board from an angle, the lines over the letters that have been crossed off, will appear a bit off set. So the board may need to be repositioned to see clearly which letters remain. Other than that, the game works well.

The game is played a little different on the alphabet version, as each letter is crossed off from the alphabet, whether it is used or not, so the players can see the remaining letters left. That part may require a little getting used to, but overall works pretty well.
The hangman figure and the alphabet remain after erasing, which is pretty cool, for playing the game.
The dry erase board itself, from Zazzle, is made of an acrylic which has some thickness to it, and is see through. The print and the hangman design are printed on the card stock that it is attached to. This means, that if you're looking at the design straight on, everything looks good and lined up.
However, if you look at the board from an angle, the lines over the letters that have been crossed off, will appear a bit off set. So the board may need to be repositioned to see clearly which letters remain. Other than that, the game works well.

Product Review - Pinhole Glasses for Improving Vision
On one of my visits to the optometrist, many years ago, the doctor had said that next visit, he thought I should get bifocals. I thought, no way.
I started searching for natural ways to improve my vision. I read books, purchased kits, did eye exercises, and I was on my journey back to better vision naturally.
I have gradually been improving my vision over the years and have used various techniques. So far, the easiest one that I have used is the wearing of pinhole glasses. It's easy, because I just have to put them on. And they provided results. I also went without glasses as much as possible. At first, it was just in restaurants, where I could see a fuzzy person sitting across the table from me; and at home where could more easily see and know what was around me.
That is no longer an issue. I can read store names across the mall, easily and clearly see the people sitting across from me in restaurants, and also at other nearby tables.
I usually wear the pinhole glasses when watching TV. They especially come in handy in not only make the characters more distinct, they immediately improve my ability to read any text, which is especially great for watching shows like, Wheel of Fortune.
The pinhole glasses can take some getting use to. When wearing them, I usually had to adjust my head position and or eye position to see a more clearer picture, especially at first. Overall, I found the adjusting my head well worth it.

Another technique that I usually do is moving my eyes in a wide circular motion, both clockwise and then counter clockwise. It's especially easy to do this while wearing the pinhole glasses, as I just follow around the rim of the frame with my eyes, a few times in each direction, thereby getting in some extra eye exercises while wearing the glasses.
I see much more clearly now than when I first started. Before starting natural vision exercises, one eye was rated as 20/600 and the other 20/650. On last exam, I could see better than 20/200 on a combined measurement without any glasses at all.
In addition to wearing pinhole glasses, I also incorporate eye exercises throughout my day. I drew some diagrams of the eye exercises that I do, like the circling of the eyes in each direction. A relaxing technique for your eyes, is to rub your palms together, and place them over your eyes. You can check these techniques and others out on posters at my CherylsArt store on Zazzle.

Armarkat Cat Tower Tree Condo
I had made a Cat Climbing Toy, which I had positioned in front of our dining room window. Since then, the cat that we had passed on, and we got two more rather active cats. I wanted to be able to see them enjoy watching outdoors more. The window in our living room sits higher, and looks out on bushes that borders our neighbors yard. The birds love hanging out there. I knew our new cats would be more intrigued with this view.
After shopping around for awhile, I decided on the Armarkat Cat Tower. It had a pretty substantial base, and if I left off the top tower piece, it would line up perfectly with our living room window. One cat could lay on the top perch and the other could easily lay or sit on the condo part.
When either one is feeling frisky, they also enjoy playing with the yarn balls. The cat tower actually came with five levels, but I only used four; the base and three more levels. It fits better by the window for us, with just the four levels.
The cats love it and couldn't wait for us to get it built. I think they knew it was for them. They were especially excited while I laid out the pieces on the floor.
This is the model that we purchased. We left off the upper post and top bed, as we didn't need or want the extra height.

Update: The yarn balls have since come off, but the tower still stands sturdy and our cats still use it. Color in Aprons can be a fun birthday party activity for kids
As a kid, I loved to paint; pictures, walls, you name it, I loved to paint it. Most kids love to paint, especially when they're painting something that is either theirs and/or that they can give as a gift.
For a while, I was the hostess for birthday parties at a local arts and craft store. One of the most popular activities was painting something. Each kid was intrigued with designing their own creation, and everyone looked forward to taking their masterpiece home, whether it was a picture frame, a wooden box, a tee shirt, their painting on a canvas, etc.
Another thing about kids, is that they also love to wear their creations, if it's clothing of some sort. So I invite you to consider Outline Drawings on Aprons as the canvas for their next creativity session.
Why aprons? The material that aprons are made of isn't stretchy like tshirts, making them easy to control as the coloring process proceeds.
There are many aprons that can be ordered with outlines already printed on them. Kids can paint them in, add to the design, and then get to wear them! They can wear their aprons when they help out in the kitchen, do a messy project, and/or for more painting. It's a win win.
I ordered aprons from Zazzle, with pre-printed outlines on them, to test them out. They are made of sturdy cotton, and lay nice when painting on them. A piece of solid cardboard placed under them is best to keep the paint from bleeding through to the underneath surface. The cardboard can also be taped to the back of the apron, to help keep it in place, while painting.

You can use acrylic fabric paint, acrylic paint with fabric medium already mixed in, and or acrylic paint markers. The acrylic paints do a great job for painting on fabric; and there are lots of colors to choose from. You may need to heat set the painting once it is dry, so check the labels on the medium that you choose for the recommended method.
Do test the paint markers on a scrap fabric piece or at least some scrap cardboard to make sure that the paint flow is working. If it isn't coming out yet, press the paint tip down on the scrap material a few times, and then try drawing with it on the scrap material first before painting on the apron.

Affirmation Stickers are Helpful for Kids and Adults
When my daughter was young, she loved receiving stickers for a job well done, for a lesson learned, for encouragement, and more. I thought that she had perhaps outgrown it, but maybe not.
I had read a comment on an earlier affirmation article of mine, that a lab technician and dietitian uses them in their work place, and that they work. I love that they're being used in work places too.
I guess we really don't outgrow liking signs of appreciation. Sometimes I even give myself some appreciation, by giving myself a compliment in the mirror. I still give my daughter appreciation, but perhaps I'll give her some in the form of some stickers too.

Use watercolor pencils for a color drawing, before painting with acrylic paint
Watercolor pencils work great for making a base drawing, for when you want to paint it in with acrylics and/or watercolors. A big plus is that you can now have your base drawing be in color, making the drawing so much easier to paint in. This comes in especially handy when making a rather large and/or intricate drawing.
The watercolor pencil markings will blend right in with the acrylic and watercolor paint. Any exposed watercolor pencils markings, can be wiped off with a damp paper towel after the paint has dried (when painting on a canvas or such surface with acrylic paint,) giving your painting a nice clean and blended look when finished. No more dark pencil marks showing through or smearing in with the paint!
I've used black drawing pencils before, and it had blended in the dark of the pencil with the acrylic paint, which I then had to go back over again and touch up. Using the watercolor pencils alleviated that extra step.
If you're looking for a watercolor pencil with a good grip, I recommend The Ergosoft watercolor pencils, by Staedtler; this link goes to Amazon. These watercolor pencils have a thin rubber type coating on the outer layer of the pencil. The body of these pencils have a rounded triangular shape, which I also find pretty comfortable to hold.
I just use a regular sized pencil sharpener to sharpen them.

With being able to customize them with party details right online, they were convenient and easy to personalize. I liked the print quality and would recommend them to others.

Postcards are a nice way to let others know that you are thinking of them.
